Once the fabric has been made, it undergoes a finishing process to give it extra softness, lightness, shine, or even give it a more matte appearance.
Mercerisation
A treatment carried out on the final fabric (or the thread, in some cases) to leave it brighter and softer. This finish doesn’t affect the quality of the fibres; it facilitates ironing of the piece and limits shrinkage.
Tumbling
This is a centrifuging process that leaves the item soft with a natural appearance.
Antimicrobial
A finish with silver ions that prevent microorganisms (bacteria, dust mites, etc.) from forming and proliferating in the fabric.
It’s completely harmless and doesn’t generate contaminant particles. It doesn’t damage the tissue or fibres. It prevents yellow stains and bad odours from forming, while it maintains the freshness of that first wash for longer.
The design is stamped or printed on the fabric via printing with rollers or digital means.
Dyed thread
Instead of printing or dyeing the fabric, it’s made with previously dyed threads. This is extra in terms of quality as it preserves the colour and fibres better with time.
